Ingredients
These mouth-watering morsels can be whipped up in an instant with just a handful of ingredients including a dash of your favourite spices. It’s a complete winner being vegan, gluten free and packed full of flavour.
- 400 grams of lion’s mane mushroom
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp coriander
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
Step 1. Prepare Lion's Mane Mushroom
Pre-heat deep fryer to 170 degrees Celcius. Using hands or a knife separate the lion’s mane mushroom into bite sized pieces.
Step 2. Prepare Batter
Thoroughly combine all dry ingredients. Spices may be substituted depending on personal taste.
Gradually add water until a wet batter is formed. The batter will thicken upon standing.
Step 4. Serve & Enjoy
Serve with lashings of salt. Optionally, serve with tartare sauce and lemon wedges for faux fish and chips.
